WHO I AM

As a professor of English at a small liberal arts college in Ohio, I work with people dedicated to helping students develop their intellectual and creative skills. I teach literature, creative writing, general writing, the structure of language, the pedagogy of language arts teaching, and the interdisciplinary study of global cultural issues.

I am also a poet and writer and have had poetry published in The New England Review, The Cleveland Reader, WomenWriters.net, The Bozeman Er, and Masque.

MY FAMILY

I have two wonderful daughters, five siblings, and many many cousins, nieces, and nephews. My mother still lives on the family farm near Dodge City, Kansas, which is home to all of us, however scattered we are across the U. S. In 2008, my family gathered for the celebration of our Century Farm, which is to say we have owned and lived on the family farm for a hundred years.
